Retail stores are showing the great fit for Starlink Local Priority (business-class) data plans, in particular, the Starlink Pooled Data Plans. The reason for this, is that Starlink's Local Priority when pooled, can be shared across multiple sites, consolidating multiple locations into 1 monthly bill and balancing low consumption terminals (Starlink dishes) with higher consumption terminals. Additionally, the retail space typically utilizes lower consumption network devices that need to connect and communicate via the internet. Some examples are POS's, inventory tracking software and devices, security camera systems*, metered guest WiFi, alarm and fire systems, general office computing, etc. all of which are generally consume low amounts of data. Ultimately lower data consumption across multiple sites translates to lower monthly data usage and a lower monthly data plan bill.
ProSat Networks 1-844-799-0258 provides complete connectivity and IT network infrastructure solutions for retail stores and multi-location retail chains throughout the United States. Retail businesses depend on fast, reliable internet to operate a point-of-sale (POS) system, process payments, manage inventory, monitor security cameras, support metered guest WiFi, connect IoTs (Internet of Things) and keep daily operations running smoothly. Whether you operate a single storefront or thousands of locations, our certified network engineers can design and install a Starlink-powered, hardwired and wireless IT network that supports your business-critical systems.

Many retail businesses located in rural communities, mountain regions, tourist destinations, campgrounds, national parks, and other underserved areas often face limited internet connectivity options. Starlink provides a practical solution for convenience stores, remote supermarkets, agricultural supply stores, seasonal retail operations, and other businesses that require reliable internet access but lack access to traditional broadband services.
Starlink delivers high-speed satellite internet anywhere with a clear view of the sky, helping retailers support POS transactions, inventory management, security cameras, guest WiFi, and day-to-day business operations regardless of location.

ProSat Networks designs, installs, and supports SMB to enterprise-grade retail networks built on the UniFi ecosystem. Our solutions integrate Starlink, UniFi gateways, managed switches, WiFi access points, CCTV surveillance and door access control systems into a centrally managed platform.
Through VLAN segmentation, we isolate POS traffic, inventory systems, security cameras, office devices, guest WiFi, and access control devices to improve security, performance, and compliance. This approach helps protect sensitive payment data while providing a scalable foundation for future growth.
Whether you operate a small retail store, a mid-sized business, a large single location, a regional chain, or a nationwide multi-site enterprise, ProSat Networks delivers end-to-end connectivity and network infrastructure solutions designed to support your operational, security, and business continuity requirements.
Local Priority Pooled Data Plans help multi-site retail stores reduce connectivity costs by allowing multiple Starlink terminals to share a single pool of Priority Data instead of assigning separate data allocations to each location. This is especially beneficial for retail chains where internet usage varies from store to store due to differences in customer traffic, transaction volumes, operating hours, and digital services.
One of our clients operates a retail kiosk business across seven locations. Each location has Kiosk, AI cooler, Point-of-Sale machine and a security camera. Using individual Starlink Local Priority Data plans, each site has subscription at approximately $155 per month. This results in a total monthly connectivity cost of $1,085 for all seven locations.

We analyzed the client's monthly data usage and found that each site consumes an average of 112 to 125 GB of Priority Data per month. Across all seven locations, the combined monthly data consumption is approximately 875 GB.

By switching to Pooled Data Plan of 1 TB with an estimated monthly cost of $580 to $700, the client can save between $385 and $505 per month, representing a 35.5% to 46.5% reduction compared to maintaining seven separate Local Priority subscriptions. In addition to lower costs, it offers greater flexibility by allowing unused data from lower-usage locations to be utilized by higher-usage sites within the same billing cycle.

It also provides a scalable connectivity model for growing retail businesses. As new kiosk locations are added, additional Starlink terminals can be included under the same pooled data account instead of managing separate subscriptions for each site. If overall data consumption increases over time, the pooled data allocation can be upgraded to a larger capacity.
