Our certified network engineers received a service request for Starlink and wireless network installation in St. Joseph, MO for a residential home. A professional service is provided by conducting the following procedure:
An initial offsite assessment is performed to evaluate the technical feasibility of the location for Starlink installation. Based on the findings, a site survey visit to is necesssary to identify the optimal installation point and the cable path in indoors and outdoors.
After the assessment, an installation plan was sent to the customer for review and approval. After the approval, the customer assisted in the procurement of the installation materials and equipment. Once the installation materials and equipment are ready, the schedule of the service request is coordinated with professional Starlink installers in St. Joseph, MO.
A Starlink obstructions test was performed to identify the optimal location for Starlink dish installation. Once verified, our team mounted the Starlink Standard dish on top of the custom 10-foot pole with pipe adapter mount. It was securely attached to the exterior wall of the metal building using heavy-duty wall brackets. The dish was elevated well above the roofline and surrounding structures, providing a clear view of the northern sky and minimizing potential signal obstructions from nearby walls and trees.

The team neatly routed the 45-meter Starlink cable from dish runs down the length of the vertical pole. They secured to the pole using clamps, which help keep the cable tidy. At the base of the pole, the cable feeds into conduit. From the corner conduit, the cable runs horizontally to the wall up to the indoor location of the Gen3 WiFi Mesh router.

Our team terminated the Starlink cable and connected it to the Gen3 WiFi Mesh router. We securely mounted the router and power supply at the customer’s preferred location to ensure optimal WiFi coverage throughout the home. Finally, we powered on the system, activated it, and configured it with the customer’s personalized SSID and password. We provide a customer a walkthrough on how to use the Starlink App.

After installation of the equipment, a Starlink alignment test was performed to confirm the dish’s proper alignment (clear line of sight) to the satellite network. The dish must have an unobstructed view to maintain strong and uninterrupted connectivity.

Followed by Starlink speed test to evaluate the connection’s performance. The test provides key metrics like download speed, upload speed, and latency.

Speed Test Analysis:
🔹Download Speed (367 Mbps) – This is a strong download speed, suitable for streaming high-definition videos, online gaming, and general browsing.
🔹Upload Speed (42 Mbps)– It’s good for video conferencing and uploading file.
🔹Latency (24 ms) – This latency is good for satellite internet, indicating a relatively responsive connection. Lower latency is beneficial for activities requiring real-time interaction, like gaming or video calls.
It’s important to understand that Starlink may require up to 12 hours to fully establish a stable connection with its satellite network. You might notice brief service interruptions or fluctuations in speed as it completes this synchronization process. This is a normal part of the setup, and once completed, you can expect more consistent optimal internet performance.
