Our certified network engineers received a service request for Starlink installation in Spantanburg, SC. To process the service request, the following steps were carried out:
An initial offsite assessment was carried out to capture the customer’s requirements for the Starlink installation. Due to the complexity of the service request, a site survey visit was carried out to:
🔹Identify the best installation spot for the Starlink Dish, ensuring a clear line of sight to the sky for the strongest signal.
🔹Locate the ideal cable entry point into the building and determine where the cable will terminate inside. We will avoid any wall penetrations where possible, our tech will first inspect any existing low-voltage cable paths (e.g., coax or Ethernet runs, old satellite lines) that can be reused.
🔹Assess how Starlink will connect to the current network and firewall as a backup connection by inspecting the existing LAN/WLAN setup-switches, patch panels, access points and cabling.
🔹Evaluate whether Ethernet cable extensions are needed to connect to the Starlink network.
🔹Determine mounting location for Advance Power Supply.
🔹Confirm the complete list of parts / materials required for the Starlink installation with offsite support.
🔹Document rooftop and all installation points with photos.
After the site survey, the installation plan was communicated to the customer for approval. Once approved, the installation materials were procured and the installation schedule was coordinated with Starlink installers in Spartanburg, SC.
Our certified Starlink installers and engineers arrived onsite to perform the following scope of work:
🔹Install a non-penetrating roof mount (sled type) secured with 8 cinder blocks for stability, with an EPDM mat underneath to protect the roof surface. Mount the Starlink Performance dish using a Performance Gen3 Pipe Adapter for a secure and stable setup.
🔹Run the Starlink 50M Cable from the dish to the server room. Mount the Starlink Gen3 power supply in the client’s server room.
🔹Final configuration and integration will be handled by the client’s IT team.
Following the Starlink equipment installation, a Starlink alignment test was conducted to fine-tune the positioning of the dish towards the satellite network. This test is critical for maintaining strong and uinterrupted signal.
Then, the Starlink speed tests were done after installation to verify the Starlink internet performance through the metrics of download speed, upload speed and latency.
