The dish must have an unobstructed view (especially to the north in the northern hemisphere or south in the southern hemisphere) to maintain strong, uninterrupted connectivity. In setups with a non-penetrating roof mount, there may be surrounding units (like HVACs or walls) that affect signal. The alignment test ensures that the dish is in the best unobstructed view.
Then, the Starlink Speed Test to evaluate the connection’s performance. The test provides key metrics like download speed, upload speed, and latency. It’s important to note that Starlink can take up to 12 hours to synchronize with the satellite network fully.
