An initial offsite assessment is conducted to ascertain the property’s feasibility for Starlink installation. To begin the installation, a Starlink obstructions test was performed on the preferred installation point using the Starlink App. This essential step to determine if the mounting location for Starlink dish has no identified obstructions to the satellite signal. The test resulted in a “Good Experience” rating, verifying that the chosen spot was ideal for seamless streaming, browsing, video calls, and gaming.
The Starlink Standard dish was securely mounted using a pivot mount for maximum stability and signal reception. Routed the Starlink cable from dish to indoor location of Gen3 WiFi mesh router.
Utilized the cable routing kit to ensure a clean, weather-resistant outdoor-indoor cable passthrough sealed with silicon sealant.
Connect the Starlink cable to the Gen3 WiFi mesh router, then powered on and got activated. Configured the router settings by customizing the customer’s preferred network name (SSID) and password. Guided the customer on how to use Starlink App for basic troubleshooting and manage Starlink connection.
Following the equipment installation, a Starlink alignment test was done to verify that the dish was optimally positioned with clear line of sight to the satellite connectivity.
Then, the Starlink speed test was performed to test the internet performance. A basic Starlink speed test measures download speed, upload speeds and latency. While an advanced speed test offers deeper insights by assessing jitter, packet loss, and network stability, along with comparisons against multiple servers. This comprehensive analysis helps identify potential issues and optimize your Starlink experience.
The Speed test results were impressive and excellent for various online activities like streaming, video conferencing, gaming and downloading and uploading files. It’s important to note that Starlink can take up to 12 hours to synchronize with the satellite network fully.
