To evaluate the service request for Starlink installation, an initial offsite assessment was carried out to assess the location, property structure, roof type, potential installation points, cable routing and any obstructions that could impact Starlink signal quality. Then, the cable was routed from the dish along the wall down to first floor where the indoor location of the Gen3 WiFi mesh router was strategically placed. Created a wall entry point sealed with grommet and weatherproof silicon sealant.
Connected the Starlink cable to the router. Turned on the router, then activated the Starlink system. They configured the user's SSID and password for secured WiFi access. We provided customer's walkthrough on how to use the Starlink app.
After completing the Starlink equipment installation, a Starlink alignment test was carried out to confirm the correct dish positioning and ensures a clear line of sight to the satellite network.
Then, the Starlink speed test was done twenty minutes after installation to verify the Starlink internet performance through the metrics of download speed, upload speed and latency. It is important to note that it takes upto 12 hours to achieve optimal speeds.
