Our certified network engineers received a service request for Starlink installation in Houston, TX as a failover or back up internet for a commercial property. To process the service request, the following steps were carried out:
After the assessment, an installation plan was sent over to the customer for review and approval. Once approved, the installation materials were procured and the installation schedule was coordinated with our certified Starlink installers in Houston, TX.
Our certified Starlink installers and engineers arrived onsite to install the Starlink dish using a non-penetrating roof mount, which was securely stabilized with cinder blocks. The mounting location was selected based on the results of the Starlink Obstruction Test, providing a clear view of the sky and a suitable location for reliable connectivity.
They routed the Starlink Enterprise cable through the existing cable path and created a properly sealed wall entry point to route the cable into the indoor IT network room.
Once inside, the Enterprise Cable and AC power cable were connected to the Starlink Advanced Power Supply. The equipment was then powered on to initialize the system and completed the Starlink activation.
The final configuration and integration of Starlink as a backup internet connection has been completed by the onsite IT.
Following the Starlink equipment installation, a Starlink alignment test was conducted to fine-tune the positioning of the dish towards the satellite network. This test is critical for maintaining strong and uinterrupted signal.
Then, the Starlink speed tests were done after installation to verify the Starlink internet connectivity and performance.
It is important to note that the Starlink connection may require up to 12 hours to reach optimal performance after installation.
