Our certified network engineers received a service request for Starlink and wireless network installation in Grand Junction, CO . To process the service request, the following steps were carried out:
An initial offsite assessment was carried out to determine the customer requirements for the installation. Using satellite imagery and onsite photos, our team able to identify the property’s structure, roof type, potential cable routing paths and any obstructions that could affect the signal reception from satellite network. The assessment provided the technical foundation for choosing the appropriate mounting solution while also determining the necessary materials, equipment and tools to ensure an efficient onsite installation.
After asssessment, an installation plan was snt over to the customer for approval. Once approved, the installation schedule was coordinated with our certified Starlink installers in Grand Junction, CO.
The Starlink installation was initiated by performing a Starlink obstruction test as shown in the image below. The results confirmed that the selected installation point offers a ‘good experience,’ ensuring Starlink reliable connectivity for streaming, web browsing, video calls and online gaming.

The Starlink dish was securely mounted on the metal roof using a combination of a pivot mount and a SataMount RCT. This setup provided a stable and weather-resistant foundation while ensuring the dish had optimal alignment for unobstructed satellite connectivity. By leveraging these specialized mounting solutions, the team was able to accommodate the roof’s structure and deliver a reliable, long-term installation.

The Starlink cable was routed from roof to the indoor location of the Gen3 WiFi mesh router. The cable was then connected to the router. It was powered on, activated and configured the user’s WiFi settings.The SSID and password were configured with the customer for a secure and personalized network. The customer was provided with a walkthrough on how to manage the Starlink internet through Starlink app.
Following the Starlink dish installation, the team carried out a detailed alignment test to fine-tune the positioning. This procedure validated that the dish has an unobstructed line of sight to the Starlink satellite network, which is critical for maintaining strong signal.

Then, the Starlink speed tests were done twenty minutes after installation to verify the Starlink internet performance through the metrics of download speed, upload speed and latency.
It is important to note that it takes upto 12 hours to achieve optimal speeds.
