Our certified network engineers received a service request for Starlink and wireless network installation in Forest Grove, OR. To process the service request, the following steps were carried out:
An initial offsite assessment was performed to analyze the home property structure using satellite imagery and client-provided onsite photos. This allowed us to initially determine potential mounting locations, detect any obstructions and plan the optimal cable pathway. This crucial step would also assess the necessary materials, equipments, tools and manpower needed for the on-the-day installation.
After assessment, an installation plan was sent over to the customer for review and approval. Once approved and equipment are delivered onsire, an installation schedule was coordinated with our certified Starlink installers in Forest Grove, OR.
To initiate the installation, an obstructions test was performed at the preferred mounting location. By scanning the sky for potential obstructions like trees or nearby structures, the test confirmed a 'Good Experience' rating, confirming that the chosen location has no obstructions and the best installation point for Starlink dish.
The Starlink dish was securely installed using a Standard wall mount, which was firmly fastened to the gable fascia board of the roof. This mounting method provides a stable and elevated position for the dish, ensuring optimal satellite visibility and signal reception. The mount's angled placement allows the dish to maintain a clear line of sight to the sky, avoiding interference from nearby structures or trees.
The Starlink cable was routed from the dish to the wall and made a wall penetration sealed with weather-proof sealant for ingress protection. Cable was fastened with clips at key points to prevent sagging or movement.
The Starlink cable was then connected to the indoor location of the Gen3 router. Then, the Gen3 router was powered up, activated, and configured with the customer's preferred SSID and password using the Starlink app. Guided the customer on how to use the Starlink App.
Following the Starlink equipment setup, a Starlink alignment test was carried out to ensure that the Starlink dish is properly positioned or aligned to achieve optimal connectivity with Starlink satellite constellation.
To check the performance of the Starlink system, the Starlink speed tests were performed. This test helps determine if your connection is functioning at optimal levels and is crucial for troubleshooting or verifying quality during and after installation. It measures the download speed, upload speed, and latency (ping).
