Our Starlink installation SMEs conducted an Initial Offsite Assessment to gather the customer information and installation requirements. They recommend for site survey visit to verify the dish installation point, roof access and outdoor-indoor cabling path. In addition, to explore other connectivity solutions like P2P, outdoor wireless access points and the identify needed equipment and materials needed for one-visit Starlink installation.
Result of Site Survey:
🔹Property Type: Airplane Hangar, metal warehouse type structure designed for smaller airplanes & helicopters
🔹Roof Type: Metal
🔹The Starlink Equipment: Customer will order Starlink Standard kit, pivot mount and additional 45m Starlink cable
🔹Mount Solution: SataMount MRM
🔹Additional Equipment: Articulating Boom Lift
The installation proposal was finalized and sent to the customer for review and approval. Once approved, the installation schedule was arranged with our professional satellite dish installers in the area.
Our Starlink installation team arrived onsite and performed another Starlink Obstructions Test using the Starlink App. This the first step to determine the best installation point for the dish to achieve a strong and stable connection to the Starlink satellite signal. The test returned a "Good Experience" rating, confirming that the chosen spot was optimal location.

Our team securely installed the Starlink dish using a Pivot Mount attached to the SataMount MRM. This combination provided a robust and weather-resistant foundation, ensuring both long-term stability and optimal signal reception by precisely positioning the dish for a clear line of sight to the satellite network.

Our team neatly routed the proprietary Starlink cable from the outdoor dish to the indoor Gen3 WiFi mesh Router, placing it in a customer-approved location to optimize WiFi coverage and signal strength throughout the hangar.

Using the Starlink App, the Gen 3 router was configured by setting up the customer's preferred network name (SSID) and password, ensuring a seamless connection.
After the installation, a Starlink alignment test was performed to ensure optimal dish positioning for uninterrupted satellite connectivity. Then, checked the system's internet performance by running the Starlink Speed test. The installation achieved good performance metrics with download speeds of 234.60 Mbps, upload speeds of 21.44 Mbps, and remarkably low latency of 42ms, 31ms, 29ms.

While Starlink establishes basic internet connectivity within 5-30 minutes, achieving optimal performance is a much longer process that can extend 12-24 hours or even longer.
The successful Starlink installation for an airplane hangar facility demonstrates the power of satellite internet technology in rural locations. This project exemplifies how thorough site assessment and expert installation can deliver enterprise-grade connectivity where traditional internet infrastructure falls short.
The strategic use of the SataMount MRM mounting system with Pivot mount ensures long-term, reliable and weather resistant rooftop installations. The professional cable routing and optimized router placement guarantee comprehensive WiFi coverage throughout the hangar facility.
For organizations considering Starlink installations for their aviation or remote facilities, this project demonstrates the Starlink connectivity speed and reliability required for mission-critical operations.
